Can you read this Mr. Vice President?

A little old news here but I have been too busy with my real job to comment on revelations made by Mr. Vice President on ABC News’ This Week last Sunday that he and Barry ‘misread’ the state of the economy when they entered office. This is of course the reason why unemployment has exceeded their initial calculations and why there may be a need for a third stimulus package. Isn’t ‘misread’ a great term to use? I wonder how many back room aids it took to craft that single word as a reason why the administrations economic policies are failing?
Does the American public have the ability to ‘misread’ the sincerity of this statement? Think about it. I know plenty of people who have a huge problem admitting when they do something wrong. The current administration believes that they cannot publicly keep blaming Bush directly, but they can buy some time by indirectly blaming him and at the same time not taking the blame themselves. The fact is it is not too early to stop the current stimulus plan. An estimate I have heard is that only 10% of the stimulus money will be spent by the end of the year. Would it not make sense that if they actually misread how bad the economy was, that they can now READ how bad it is and make a couple of changes in the plans current direction? Am I a complete idiot for thinking this? The problem with these guys is that they are so ridiculously arrogant and drunk on their own wine that the refuse to change their current course. Their inability to do this also validates the initial reaction to the package which was this was full of wasteful spending projects and not all about the job creation they so proudly stated it was. It is not to late Mr. Vice President to put on your reading glasses and take a closer look.

Again…America was worried about Palin? Do you think Obama is thinking about placing Joe in that secure bunker right about now? First, from Andrew Malcolm (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/06/joe-biden.html:

Joe Biden who was a train-riding senator for nearly four decades until Democrat Barack Obama had accumulated the $750 million necessary to become president, spent a good deal of vice presidential time Monday on the telephone touting the administration’s economic stimulus spending package to New York-area media.

Look, this is designed, this totally new tunnel, is designed to provide for automobile traffic. It’s something, as you know, up your way, that’s been in the works and people have been clamoring for for a long time.
Maybe there’s another car tunnel secretly in the works because Manhattan has a chronic shortage of traffic. But presumably the difference between a railroad and an automobile tunnel will be straightened out before traffic actually starts flowing, or it could be just the kind of messy major glitch that Biden and Obama wanted to avoid.

Although not as stupid as the tunnel and other comments he has made, I just do not get why this man is even out in public? Obama is a very calculated and polished man. Why does he expose his Presidency to this bafoon? My favorite part about the Sotomayer article is this at the end:

“That (comment) means that she could probably care less about civil liberties and just do whatever law enforcement wants,” Hall said.
Hall said Sotomayor probably doesn’t sign on to Biden’s remark, though.
“My take on it is that he’s probably just trying to get law enforcement to support him by saying something just completely off the wall,” he said.

What? This is the Vice President. The man that was so much better than ‘the hick from Alaska’ remember?

BTW, He now has his own category on the site! Also, how much you want to bet that if this continues Joe will be replaced for a 2012 run? I will bet you a magnet!

D'oh!

America was worried about Palin? As I have pointed out in other posts, the current Veep has this much adored personality of being the king of gaffe’s. He is sooooo much cuter than W and Gerald Ford, I mean he HAS been touched by tragedy, hasn’t he??? On a more serious note, I have also wondered when this will be of any concern to anyone? Bueller? From Newsweek:

Ever wonder about that secure, undisclosed location where Dick Cheney secreted himself after the 9/11 attacks? Joe Biden reveals the bunker-like room is at the Naval Observatory in Washington, where Cheney lived for eight years and which is now home to Biden. The veep related the story to his head-table dinner mates when he filled in for President Obama at the Gridiron Club earlier this year. He said the young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment. The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn’t be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall.

Well, he is at it again.  Ultra-lovable and all around good guy, according to the media (did you know he has been touched by tragedy?), VP Joe Biden made quite a statement this morning on The Today Show.  I must admit while watching it and enjoying my bowl of Passion Mango Granola I snapped out of my inhaling when I heard Matt Lauer ask him what he would tell his family if they were about to travel on a plane.  After asking Joe Biden a deeply personal question it is always a very fun and suspenseful moment when waiting for his answer. Here it is:

Joe. . .probably best to stick with the administration’s answer and not always say what you would do.  I know you suffer from some of the same narcissistic qualities as Barry; but you work for someone Joe, and people do listen to you now.  I am also sure that the airlines will use this as an excuse for bailout funds due to the large amount of cancelled plane tickets made today and in the near future.
