How is That New Auto Task Force Doing?
Author: Admin account
05 28th, 2009Geez, almost two bankruptcies in 3 months? Let’s take a look at these men and woman with years of automotive experience who were tapped by the president to assist the U.S. auto industry off the ledge of doom:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090527/ap_on_re_us/autos_task_force_glance
Wow! That is an impressive list of banker….What a minute! I do not see any person on that list who has any experience in the auto industry! You mean he put a task force (I always want to say “Super Secret” before I say that) together that has zero members with experience in looking into the very industry they are investigating? That seems odd and a bit like it was rushed? No, this president would never do that.

Did He really Say This?
Author: Admin account
03 11th, 2009“I reject a system that rewards failure and protects a person from its consequences.” Who said this? Newt? Mac? W? No, President Obama did in a major speech about education. Why has he decided in all sectors of our society to take this stance of accountability with teachers? Forget about all the other areas he has decided are O.K. to underacheive and get rewarded for it. Go ahead and take a stab at the people who’s union helped get you elected. The best part of the article below:
“Obama called for an end to “what has become a race to the bottom in our schools” through lower testing standards. Echoing former President Bush’s call to end “the soft bigotry of low expectations,” Obama said states needed to stop “low-balling expectations” for students.“
FOLLOWED BY
“To help promote this goal, Obama said he would push for funding in the No Child Left Behind law to be more effectively tied to results. The Education Department, he said, would “back up this commitment to higher standards with a fund to invest in innovation in our school districts.”
Looks like W did do something right, eh? Just very perplexed at this move and why no credit was given to the previous administration as well.

The Jungle 2010
Author: Admin account
03 11th, 2009One of the first books I ever remember reading was a book by Upton Sinclair called “The Jungle” which was written in 1906. That’s right 1906. Anyway, it depicted the horrible working conditions that American’s in the early 20th century endured while working in the meatpacking factories. Even though Sinclair was a SOCIALIST, and the book has many SOCIALIST undertones, it did make a good case that workers needed to have representation in order to protect them in the work place from conditions that were at best case deplorable. It is largely responsible for the beginning of the American Labor Unions.
So, it actually helped immigrants over 100 years ago. Now, how is the American Labor Union doing these days for the American worker? How is it doing for education? How about the auto industry? What about progress in general? Has the concept run its course? Is it really necessary anymore?
While you can decide what today’s role for unions in society is, anyone with A SOUND RATIONAL THOUGHT PROCESS would believe that what is being currently discussed in the Congress, a proposed bill called the Employee Free Choice Act, is so nuts words cannot even describe. Basically, as our economy is in shambles, North Korea and China are acting a little more nutty than usual, and our Congress has decided to introduce legislation to eliminate the secret ballot.

Obama and NAFTA
Author: Admin account
02 19th, 2009Have you ever spoken ill of someone behind their back and then been in their presence after they heard what you said? If so, how have you handled it? If you remember during the election Obama, catering to the unions which are responsible for huge campaign donations and votes, was pretty clear that NAFTA was a bad idea and he would tackle this topic head on. A year ago, McCain actually questioned how Obama would handle this:
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4360446&page=1
My favorite quote? CTV reported Wednesday night that a “senior member” of Obama’s “campaign team” telephoned Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Wilson within the last month “and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA” but that “the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.”
WTF? Today, the president was in Canada for his first trip outside of the United States. How do you think it went? Did he confront our friends from up north with his campaign promises made to Americans in order to get votes? I.Think.Not.

Did Obama change his tune on his campaign promises? Come on.

Do Not Offend Anyone, Ever!

01 31st, 2009This is a bit nuts but not surprising.

Do I Smell a Pardon in hopefully 3 years and 11 months? I know, he is in Kenya and that is impossible but still funny!

Keep an eye out for this union and how Obama takes care of them or not. 85 freaking million dollars to the Dems!! I love his quote though….
“I think [office-holders] should be worried that if they don’t live to what Americans just voted for — which was change, which was having workers be able to make more money to take care of their families — people should be worried if they’re not going to live up to those responsibilities. That’s what we voted for,” he said. AMEN! Would you like a free magnet or t-shirt Andy?

Richardson, Geithner, Daschle, OH MY! Come on! What is up with Obama and the vetting process? I thought these issues were going to disappear when he took over.Nice article from the KC Star:
