How Is All That Job Creation Going?
Author: Admin account
10 22nd, 2009I am consistently in awe of how horrible the unemployment rate is and how off this current administration has been in their ability to do anything about it. Why is there not a huge uproar about this. Remember President-elect Obama’s confidence regarding this issue:

How about the reality now 10 months later?
http://www.nrcc.org/news/read.aspx?id=987
A note about the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). In order to Free The Elephant in 2012 we have to awaken America starting on a local level and I mean by starting small. For the first time in my life I became involved in school board elections and town board elections. How was I involved? I went to one coffee get together and put a sign in my yard and asked some of my neighbors who they were voting for and why? I engaged them. No big commitment, but if we can eliminate the Libs from these positions of power it can become a domino effect. These local candidates were not running as Republicans or Dems, but they had a core set of values and common sense that reflect many of my conservative beliefs. Now, the NRCC is certainly focusing on bigger races than school boards, but I think you get my point.

Cash For Clunkers: Show Me The Money!
Author: Admin account
08 20th, 2009Cash for Clunkers has become the 3 Billion (think Dr. Evil) Dollar test of how a government run health care system would run. Here are some highlights:
-It has deprived parts dealers or salvage yards of millions of dollars by not allowing them to touch the clunkers after they have been traded in, causing the price of parts to soon rise by as much as 15%.
-It has basically allowed for new debt to be created by tempting people with no car payment to trade in their vehicle so they can be a new owner of a $500/month car payment that they can barely afford.
-It has really helped Honda, Toyota and Kia!
-It has not helped GM or Chrysler nearly as much as the media reports. Remember, these companies were bankrupt! You can’t get much lower than that folks…Of COURSE they have increased production and seen a spike in sales. If I were broke, had no job and sold a couple pints of blood for $100 I too would be making more money than I did yesterday.
-It has displayed the perfect characteristics of a Liberal idea…Good intentions, horrible game plan. Exhibit A is the fact that dealerships are not getting paid and telling the government to screw off:
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9A63RC81&show_article=1
If the government cannot handle issuing the checks to the auto dealers how fast do you think you will get your reimbursement check for your health care procedure?

Biden and Obama ‘Misread’ America’s IQ as Well (I Hope)
Author: Admin account
07 9th, 2009A little old news here but I have been too busy with my real job to comment on revelations made by Mr. Vice President on ABC News’ This Week last Sunday that he and Barry ‘misread’ the state of the economy when they entered office. This is of course the reason why unemployment has exceeded their initial calculations and why there may be a need for a third stimulus package. Isn’t ‘misread’ a great term to use? I wonder how many back room aids it took to craft that single word as a reason why the administrations economic policies are failing?
Does the American public have the ability to ‘misread’ the sincerity of this statement? Think about it. I know plenty of people who have a huge problem admitting when they do something wrong. The current administration believes that they cannot publicly keep blaming Bush directly, but they can buy some time by indirectly blaming him and at the same time not taking the blame themselves. The fact is it is not too early to stop the current stimulus plan. An estimate I have heard is that only 10% of the stimulus money will be spent by the end of the year. Would it not make sense that if they actually misread how bad the economy was, that they can now READ how bad it is and make a couple of changes in the plans current direction? Am I a complete idiot for thinking this? The problem with these guys is that they are so ridiculously arrogant and drunk on their own wine that the refuse to change their current course. Their inability to do this also validates the initial reaction to the package which was this was full of wasteful spending projects and not all about the job creation they so proudly stated it was. It is not to late Mr. Vice President to put on your reading glasses and take a closer look.

How Are Those Jobs Coming Along?
Author: Admin account
07 2nd, 2009As I have posted before:
http://freetheelephant2012.com/?p=486
I wonder with the latest release of the June job numbers if we will continue to hear the claims from Obama and Mr. Vice President about the “saving and creating” of jobs? Also, when is it time that we start to question a new President regarding how his reforms are coming along and demand an answer as to why he is turning out to be so wrong? When is his policy responsible and not the ‘failure’ of the previous administration? Speaking of promises made on the campaign trail compared to actual accountability, here is an excellent post:

Are Venture Capitalists Next For Obama?
Author: Admin account
06 19th, 2009So, have you seen some of the ideas being presented lately by Barry and his team? Look, much of the problems of the economy in the last two years reside in the lack of regulation. I get it. However, this does not mean that a complete opposite approach is needed to make everything better. I mean come on, way to take a bad situation and make it into a rallying cry for liberal ideology. Is that leadership?
The article below which I read in The Triangle Business Journal, scares me a bit. The who article can be viewed here:
http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/stories/2009/06/15/daily56.html
But I wanted to highlight the crux of it with this letter to the president from National Venture Capital Association. If you believe that VC’s had anything to do with the current economic crises, please move to Canada. They should continue doing what they are doing and should not be touched:
“The National Venture Capital Association understands the need for these important reforms for investment managers that could pose significant systemic risk to the stability of our financial system.
However, we strongly assert that the venture capital industry does not pose such risks and therefore should not be swept into regulation intended for other investment vehicles.
The venture capital industry operates in the private market, building companies. It does not utilize leverage on a significant scale nor does it trade stocks or derivatives in the financial markets.
Investors in venture capital do not rely on their invested funds for short term liquidity. Lastly, the size of the entire venture capital industry is relatively inconsequential when compared to other asset classes being considered for regulation.
For these reasons, we believe that the entrepreneurial risk associated with the venture capital industry is not relevant to the systemic risks which the Administration is hoping to mitigate with this reform. In fact, maintaining an environment that supports entrepreneurial risk is critical to economic growth for the nation as a whole.
Although critical details such as the threshold level for registration are still emerging, sweeping venture capital into this proposed plan, could place an undue burden on smaller venture firms which should be directing their resources towards identifying and building new companies and growing jobs.
The current regulatory disclosure requirements are sufficient and have worked effectively for decades. We look forward to working with Members of Congress and the Administration on preserving an appropriate environment for venture activity as this process moves forward.”
What do you think?

I Just Saved and Created 10,000 Jobs
Author: Admin account
06 12th, 2009How did I do it? You do believe me? Of course you do not because I have zero facts to back my claims up.
This is the way I have felt for the last couple of months regarding the claims made by Obama and his team regarding all the progress allegedly made in the area of job creation. Seemed a bit vague to me but of course know one would dare question it….
Needless to say, it was refreshing to see the piece below on CBS News last night (Due to the fact that I am an idiot and cannot figure out how to embed video onto this site, below is the link to the piece):
http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=5081969n
Think that CBS News has turned into a right-wing mouthpiece now? Below is an article sent to me via a reader from the Wall Street Journal:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124451592762396883.html
Questioning the authenticity of statements made by anyone in public office is our Constitutional right. I hope more media outlets remember this.

Gas Prices Go Way Up, Bush to Blame…D’Oh!
Author: Admin account
06 11th, 2009It is pretty darn obvious that the price of gas has gone way up in the last 6 months. I am back to the days of putting no more than $40 in my gas guzzler every week as I refuse to fill ‘er up. Still staying back in those days, it has caused me to reflect a bit on all of the W blaming regarding this topic the last time we saw a spike. Remember those? My favorite was that Bush was conspiring with all of his oil buddies to pad their pockets. A really believable theory if you have no idea of how the pricing system for fuel works and you have a screw loose. Here are two polls during this time to remind people of who the American public blamed:
http://blogs.consumerreports.org/cars/2008/06/high-gas-prices.html
http://www.dailyfueleconomytip.com/miscellaneous/who-do-we-blame-for-high-gasoline-prices/
Well, what do you think now? I think this will be a non-issue as far as the media is concerned until we get above $3.50. Then someone at NBC or ABC will show some matrix that exhibits oil prices always going up every 20 years and that the rise since Obama’s inauguration is actually BELOW that average and somehow W is still to blame. How am I doing?
Noel Sheppard actually presents some facts here:

Obama Picks Fundraising Over Tact
Author: Admin account
05 29th, 2009File this one under the priorities category. As everyone who is not currently living with their parents is aware, the economy is not doing so hot. One of the hardest hit states is California. The Governator is trying sell everything to assist in balancing the budget. So, a visit by the President would be a very nice thing. You know, uplifting, encouraging, a great way to make money..what? (From NBC Los Angeles.com) :
President Barack Obama visited Beverly Hills Wednesday for a Democratic National Committee event that was expected to raise between $3 million and $4 million because of a hefty $30,400 price tag….Tickets to the reception at the Beverly Hilton, which featured performances Jennifer Hudson and Earth, Wind and Fire and the president. went for a base price of $1,000, VIP seats went for $2,500, according to Hari Sevugan, the national press secretary for the Democratic National Committee.
Admission to what was described as a separate “dinner and discussion” cost $30,400 per couple, which matches the maximum yearly individual contribution to a national committee under federal law.
When they are about to close all of the California State Parks, the freaking parks, your timing I would say could not be worse.
Great timing Barry. How much money did it cost us to get you there?

Biden is New Head of CDC-Airlines Not Happy
Author: Admin account
04 30th, 2009Well, he is at it again. Ultra-lovable and all around good guy, according to the media (did you know he has been touched by tragedy?), VP Joe Biden made quite a statement this morning on The Today Show. I must admit while watching it and enjoying my bowl of Passion Mango Granola I snapped out of my inhaling when I heard Matt Lauer ask him what he would tell his family if they were about to travel on a plane. After asking Joe Biden a deeply personal question it is always a very fun and suspenseful moment when waiting for his answer. Here it is:
http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/04/biden_planes_trains_bad_idea_w.html
Joe. . .probably best to stick with the administration’s answer and not always say what you would do. I know you suffer from some of the same narcissistic qualities as Barry; but you work for someone Joe, and people do listen to you now. I am also sure that the airlines will use this as an excuse for bailout funds due to the large amount of cancelled plane tickets made today and in the near future.

Obama to Have King Kong in Next Photo Opp
Author: Admin account
04 28th, 2009Keeping with the transparency topic of Obama’s campaign, I was not very surprised to hear about the recent photo opp that occurred yesterday with Air Force One, the Statue of Liberty, AND fighter jets. Awesome job Barry! It seems that when you are President of the United States you can do anything. Can you imagine living in the New York City/New Jersey area and seeing this? I would have started running, screaming, and urinating at the same time. How much did this cost? Let’s see: one Air Force One, 2(?) fighter jets, an amazing amount of panic, many pairs of pants, employee hours missed due to evacuation of work….Nice!
My next suggestion is to put King Kong (not the new one from the Jack Black movie, but the original) on the Empire State Building without warning and see what happens. Awaken the beast! See who you can scare!
