We Libs are the only true thinkers in this country! Like my lips?

We Libs are the only true thinkers in this country! Like my lips?

One of my favorite politicians is Madame Speaker. My reasoning is simple, I believe that she embodies true Liberalism. She is never wrong (see CIA). Her ideas are the best for America therefore there is no compromise. Anyone who opposes her is a right-wing lunatic. She is an elitist and extremely wealthy individual yet would never admit it.
It comes as no surprise that she had to comment on the Tea Parties. Why does every Dem feel the need to comment on everything we do? Why are Liberals the only group allowed to ever protest? O.K., maybe we shower, shave and dress a bit nicer but we also have a voice in this country. Protesting and speaking up for what you believe in is not your party’s exclusive right. Finally Nance, two freaking words for you when accuse Tea Parties of being funded by the ‘high end’ and not a ‘grass roots movement’…GEORGE SOROS.

Smoking is Now Even More Dangerous

The government is not stopping me! Timmy, give me another red.

The government is not stopping me! Timmy, give me another red.

I am trying to figure out what actual benefits will come out of the latest of Obama’a 100 regulations in 100 days legislation party?
So, essentially the tobacco industry is now under control by the FDA. Those awesome chocolate smokes are going to go away, the use of ‘light’ and ‘low tar’ will no longer be allowed and warning labels will be a lot meaner. The whole ‘goal’ is to decrease the amount of young children starting the habit. Um…Do this for me please. Find someone who smokes and ask them how and why they picked up the habit. Did it have to do with those great tasting mint smokes? The thought that they were not smoking something bad because the warning label was like a greeting card? Or, was it that they tried one (like 95% of youths) liked it and it gradually it became a habit?
I bet you a carton of candy cigarettes that it was the last one. As a pretty much reformed smoker that is how I started. So, why this law? Still reading….Oh, of course!:

Under the plan, the FDA for the first time will monitor and inspect tobacco companies. Cigarette makers must pay hundreds of millions of dollars in fees, register with the agency, and provide a list of all the products they make.

Folks, this is nothing more than a way to tax a business. Why can he not admit it?

I enjoyed the smell of it for a couple of months. I appreciate the honor. Do you want my tie also?

I enjoyed the smell of it for a couple of months. I appreciate the honor. Do you want my tie also?

Have you guys been enjoying the extra cash in your paycheck lately?  Have you paid your mortage off or taken the fam to Disney?  I have been purchasing Fat Tire Beer every week because of the extra scratch in my wallet.  Well, there is a lttle something that the Obama administration forgot to mention, or at least coordinate, with a little entity called the IRS (From Yahoo.Com):

“The tax credit is supposed to provide up to $400 to individuals and $800 to married couples as part of the massive economic recovery package enacted in February.  Most workers started receiving the credit through small increases in their paychecks in the past month.

But new tax withholding tables issued by the IRS could cause millions of taxpayers to get hundreds of dollars more than they are entitled to under the credit; money that will have to be repaid at tax time.

At-risk taxpayers include a broad swath of the public: married couples in which both spouses work, workers with more than one job, retirees who have federal income taxes withheld from their pension payments, and Social Security recipients with jobs that provide taxable income.

The Internal Revenue Service acknowledges the problems with the withholding tables but has done little to warn average taxpayers.

“They need to get the Goodyear blimp out there on this,” said Tom Ochsenschlager, vice president of taxation for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

For many, the new tax tables will simply mean smaller-than-expected tax refunds next year, IRS spokesman Terry Lemons said.  The average refund was nearly $2,700 this year.

But taxpayers who calculate their withholding so they get only small refunds could face an unwelcome tax bill next April, said Jackie Perlman, an analyst with the Tax Institute at H&R Block.

“They are going to get a surprise,” she said.

My number one question is (and always is) this…..Will this make the news on the three major networks? Do you think it is newsworthy? If not,  you are overboard, wayyyyyyyyyy nutty, and probably need to move to Canada.

Whew! That took a long time. Can I sleep now?

Whew! That took a long time. Can I sleep now?

As I have noted in many entries (see ‘Cabinet’ under the categories section), the irony of the party that loves to tax Americans nominating people who have trouble paying their taxes to offices of extreme influence has made me laugh on many occasions.  So it is a bit sad for me today as the last of the tax cheats has been signed, sealed, and delivered into the Obama cabinet (from CNN.COM):

“Sebelius also revealed in March that she recently paid nearly $8,000 in back taxes and interest. She said she had errors in her 2005, 2006 and 2007 tax returns.”

Happy she is in to take care of the swine flu, but I will miss Big Janet and her amazingly articulate press conferences as she stood in for the ex-Gov.

Obama=Lucky?

Author: Admin account
04 15th, 2009

In a speech today that I caught at home during lunch televised on Fox, Obama was discussing the various tax initiatives that his administration had directed since the start of his term. He mentioned, in reference to the top 2% of Americans who are ‘lucky’ like him to be making that kind of money they would soon return to the Clinton tax bracket. It struck me that for once, Obama really nailed the problem at hand! To say that he and the rest of Americans who are successful enough to earn that kind of money are ‘lucky’ captures the crux of what is wrong with he and his policies toward taxation. These people must have all won the lottery, had wealthy relatives (even with the death tax) or had a really good day at the track. They must be all lucky!
Obama saying he is one of those lucky people is pure political gold. He wants to identify as a man of the people, many of these people will see him as willing to take one for the country by taking a bigger tax hit, some of those people will actually think he feels bad for making all that coin. Gold, I tell you Jerry, gold!
Forget the millions he will make after office on the public speaking circuit, the books deals and more than likely the movie rights for being the President. He needs to appeal to the people now and luck has nothing to do with it.

O.K., Fine! I will Pay Those Taxes

Author: Admin account

This has become a constant theme, joke, irony, contradiction, fiasco and joke (yes again!) for this administration. The party that loves to tax has members who do not like to pay their own taxes. Irony here? Well, Kansas where the future Health and Human Services head is the Governor has actually suspended its issuing of state tax returns due to its financial issues! Nice. Barry, vet these people, for the love of everything please stop this. I believe she is number 6, maybe 7?

Where is the national news on this? That’s right, way too busy seeing what Jackie O, er I mean Michelle is wearing.

No Rush To Die Now

O.K., so remember how the Death Tax was supposed to be eliminated for a year and then gradually phased out? Not so fast. Remember that whole transparency thing also? Excellent, excellent blog presented by The American Family Business Institute (AFBI) with details about how this tax will still be part of our loved ones burden after we pass away. So, you pay taxes all your life and with the money you save to enrich others after your passing, they get stuck with having to pay taxes on that which lowers the value by a half! Explain how this makes any sense at all?
