10 29th, 2009Interesting article from USA Today regarding the appointments Obama has made for various positions and how many of them gave him some serious coin while he was a candidate. I thought Barry was stoping this Washington as usual stuff? Sounded good at the time:

Where Are All The Anti-War Protesters?
Author: Admin account
10 8th, 2009Can anyone answer that? Anyway, got a big kick out of Hillary’s interview on CBS News with Katie Couric a couple of days ago. First of all, welcome back Hillary! Are you not so psyched that you took this job? Other than falling and breaking a bone in an ‘unfortunate accident’ (see Vince Foster) you really have not gotten much exposure or done much, eh? Regardless, happy to see her actually answering some questions instead of having Barry and Mr. Vice President doing her work for her.
Regarding the interview, I really liked how Couric referred to McChrystal as one of Barry’s ‘advisors’ Ya, he has the same amount of say that Raum does on what is going on in the big Afghan, come on! Also, really got a kick out of this exchange:
Couric: Let me ask you a couple of questions about the situation there. Do you think the situation is deteriorating in Afghanistan?
Clinton: I think it’s mixed. I think that– certainly– as we’ve now seen, General McChrystal’s– assessment was that it– is deteriorating. That the Taliban have– the momentum. That they are much more aggressive. They are better equipped. They are– moving– more broadly in the country than they had been before. At the same time, I think there are some positive– developments that may not get the attention, because they’re not in the headlines.
A lot has change in Afghanistan in the last eight years. Many more people, particularly children– women, girls, are, you know, back in school. They get health care. There’s a lot of positive developments, the university enrollment, including many, many young women students is up.
Does Hillary’s answer sound familiar? It was the same answer that every freaking member of W’s ‘advisors’ said about Iraq. The. Same. Why did Couric not pounce on this? I think you know why.

Jimmy Carter: You Lie
Author: Admin account
09 16th, 2009
Worst. President. Ever.
If ever there was an example of a man trying to stay relevant who was never very relevant it is this man. Yes, he did some good by working for Habitat for Humanity but other than that I do believe there has never been an ex-President so awful as this man. Everywhere he goes outside of the United States he makes our country and especially its leaders look so horrible that he should be ashamed of himself. Now, he decides to interject his opinion on the Joe Wilson controversy. What does he think he will gain form this? What are his motivations? Jimmy, you were horrible at your job when you had it, please stick to building houses and stay the F out of any and all issues that effect the core of this country. You are were laughed at then, still laughed at now and will be when you are dead and buried in your peanut farm in Plains.
A note about racism and its relation to criticism of this President. Is anyone not surprised that this becoming an issue now? I am not. When Liberals feel on the defensive this is how the react. Did Barry not win South Carolina’s Primary election?
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/sc/south_carolina_democratic_primary-234.html
Was this win even mentioned as historic in a racial sense then? Of course not… HE WON! Point is this. Wilson is from a district that is predominately white which is located in a state that still raises the Confederate flag, Liberals want to exploit race as much as they can and when it is convenient and that is what they are doing. This country elected this black man to this position and now all of a sudden when it is wakes up and realizes he is horrible at his job racism is at its core for these feelings? Give me a freaking break.
I hope Representative Wilson and other Republican’s stop embarrassing the crap out of our party like this. We have the Dem’s in a very good situation that they have created for themselves and Sparty-Like* self-implosion is not where we need to go. We need to keep exposing them as big-government spend-aholics that they are and not act like immature idiots

Are All Community Organizer’s The Same?
Author: Admin account
09 15th, 2009I have to laugh that it took some real undercover journalism to finally expose this organization for what they really are. I mean, how freaking obvious has this been to normal American’s for the last couple of year’s? Here is an excellent article written over a year ago about ACORN that I bet you have not read. Also, did you know that the first four letters in ACORN stand for: Association of Community Organizer’s…..

Nancy Pelosi Likes Real Grass Over Fake
Author: Admin account
08 6th, 2009One of my favorite politicians is Madame Speaker. My reasoning is simple, I believe that she embodies true Liberalism. She is never wrong (see CIA). Her ideas are the best for America therefore there is no compromise. Anyone who opposes her is a right-wing lunatic. She is an elitist and extremely wealthy individual yet would never admit it.
It comes as no surprise that she had to comment on the Tea Parties. Why does every Dem feel the need to comment on everything we do? Why are Liberals the only group allowed to ever protest? O.K., maybe we shower, shave and dress a bit nicer but we also have a voice in this country. Protesting and speaking up for what you believe in is not your party’s exclusive right. Finally Nance, two freaking words for you when accuse Tea Parties of being funded by the ‘high end’ and not a ‘grass roots movement’…GEORGE SOROS.

Keep Yelling About Health Care Reform!

08 5th, 2009I have enjoyed seeing some of the footage of members of Congress and Barry’s Cabinet trying to explain UHC to their electorate. Have you seen any of these town hall meetings? Democracy in action baby!

Beat Jon Corzine…Pretty Please?
Author: Admin account
07 16th, 2009I have never liked Jon Corzine since he spent $63 million of his own money to ‘win’ the Senate seat in New Jersey in 2000. Now after his pitiful performance as Governor the last 4 years where he raised taxes and cut tax breaks ( I know unheard of!) he is in some serious trouble in the upcoming November election. So, what do you do when you are a Dem and you are in trouble? Why bring in Barry of course. Barry can fix anything! He is the Chuck Norris of politics, isn’t he?
It seems that the good people of New Jersey may not be fooled for a second time. Over 60% of them still have a favorable rating of Obama but in this election they are going to focus on what is good for the state and evidently the current Governor is not such a good asset. Imagine that. You live in a state and are actually going to vote for what is the best for your state? Sounds like some smart voters. Is this a sign of things to come?

John Murtha is Not So Good For Pennsylvania
Author: Admin account
06 16th, 2009One of my biggest regrets about starting this blog is that the title does not exactly fit what I am trying to accomplish. Yes, I would really like to have Obama be a one term president. However as the About section (http://freetheelephant2012.com/?page_id=6) explains, I really would like to expose the lunacy of liberals when they have power. 2010, not 2012 should be our first priority.
With all of this being said, I lived in Pennsylvania for 10 years. I really like the people who live in the state, especially those in the western part of it. Western Pennsylvania is as close to the core of America as any state is geographically. This is why I have been very perplexed with John Murtha. I have posted about him before:

Ya see, the guy is a borderline nutbag. Here we have again another example:

By Tory Newmyer
Roll Call Staff
House Democrats breathed a sigh of relief last week when the ethics committee confirmed an investigation that likely centers on some of the party’s most senior appropriators.
The reaction was a testament to the success of the Republican pressure campaign to keep the heat on Democrats for dragging their feet on confronting the mounting controversy. With the official word that the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct is in fact probing lawmakers’ ties to the PMA Group, the majority no longer has to worry about beating back a series of resolutions from Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) aimed at forcing an investigation.
Since February, Flake has tied Democrats in knots with the gambit, peeling off a slowly mounting number of their Members — mostly freshmen and sophomores — and continuing the ethics headache for leaders trying to tackle a sweeping agenda.
“It is a relief,” one senior Democratic aide said. “Now Flake can’t come back and say, ‘Why isn’t ethics doing its work, and what are you hiding behind?’”
The ethics committee announcement came about a week after House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) engineered a resolution calling on the panel to disclose within 45 days whether it was looking into the PMA scandal.
While the ethics announcement may mark the end of the Flake resolutions, Republicans don’t intend to allow Democrats even a short-term reprieve. This week, for example, Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) said he plans to offer amendments in the Appropriations Committee, and potentially on the floor, that would rescind funding for earmarks included in the omnibus spending bill earlier this year that were directed to the clients of PMA, a now-defunct lobbying group.
“We ought to postpone spending the money until we see the outcome of the criminal investigation and now the ethics committee investigation,” Kirk said, adding that PMA had become a cloud over the Congress that can no longer be ignored. “We are reaching a tipping point on this.”
And Flake signaled he would use the news out of the ethics committee to argue for suspending earmarks to private companies and to ban campaign contributions from earmark recipients.
But the longer-term threat comes from the scandal itself.
The Justice Department is in the midst of a months-long investigation of PMA, which has close ties to Democratic Reps. John Murtha (Pa.), Peter Visclosky (Ind.) and Jim Moran (Va.). The firm and its clients generated millions of dollars in campaign contributions for the lawmakers, who secured tens of millions of dollars in projects for the shop’s clients.
Federal agents raided PMA’s Arlington, Va., offices in November, and the firm folded earlier this year. The probe officially landed on Capitol Hill late last month, when Visclosky disclosed that his Congressional and campaign offices, as well as some aides, had been subpoenaed as part of a federal grand jury investigation.
Regardless of what, if anything, the ethics committee review turns up, the federal investigation appears to be proceeding apace — and that’s what should keep the party on edge, said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “Does this give Democrats cover? No. PMA is going to blow up — it’s going to get much worse than it is now,” she said, dismissing the announcement from the ethics committee as “theater.”
Democrats privately acknowledged there is little they can do to stem the fallout from the ongoing federal probe. But they argued they can now point to the fact of the ethics investigation as evidence that the institutional process for self-policing is functioning — a distinction from the years of Republican rule when the committee remain deadlocked and effectively dormant.
“The system is working,” said Nadeam Elshami, spokesman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). “The ethics committee is conducting its business in a bipartisan way.”
Likewise, Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), a freshman and former director of the government watchdog group Common Cause, said the committee’s announcement should “give people confidence that the process is working.”
Murtha, for his part, said he has yet to be contacted by the ethics panel and is not worried about potentially being the focus of its investigation.
“I do my job. I’m here to do earmarks,” the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense chairman said. “I’m here to collect contributions. The Constitution says I can do that.”
Asked whether he is frustrated by Flake’s amendments, Murtha said no. “It’s not a pain in my side. … It’s all politics,” he said.Meanwhile, Visclosky got an encouraging sign from the Federal Election Commission that, per his request, he would be allowed to tap his campaign funds to mount a legal defense. The FEC made the announcement in a draft advisory opinion and must still hold a formal vote to approve it.
Steven T. Dennis and Jennifer Bendery contributed to this report.
Enough is enough. Get this man out.

How is That New Auto Task Force Doing?
Author: Admin account
05 28th, 2009Geez, almost two bankruptcies in 3 months? Let’s take a look at these men and woman with years of automotive experience who were tapped by the president to assist the U.S. auto industry off the ledge of doom:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090527/ap_on_re_us/autos_task_force_glance
Wow! That is an impressive list of banker….What a minute! I do not see any person on that list who has any experience in the auto industry! You mean he put a task force (I always want to say “Super Secret” before I say that) together that has zero members with experience in looking into the very industry they are investigating? That seems odd and a bit like it was rushed? No, this president would never do that.

Pelosi Runs Away From CIA Flees to New Buddies in China
Author: Admin account
05 27th, 2009In a word, lucky. So, she gets the CIA really peeved by calling them liars right in time to conveniently jet off across the world for a summit on climate change in…CHINA. Is this the same China that hosted the Olympics that had all that smog and air pollution? The same China that Pelosi has criticized for years regarding their human rights issues? How much fuel did we burn getting her over there and why in the heck is the Spreaker of the House our point person on this? Odd indeed.
I hope that Nance used this time in the spotlight to bring up China’s well documented human rights violations. I mean it has worked so well for her in the past. I am sure sh……Um… no (From TIME-CNN):
Ahead of this week’s visit to China, Pelosi’s first as Speaker of the House, there was some nervousness in China that the high-ranking Democrat would publicly raise human rights concerns at a sensitive time in Beijing — just one week before the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre. But thus far the American politician, who is facing questions at home about what she knew of the CIA’s waterboarding of terrorism suspects, has given her hosts little to worry about. When she did mention human rights, it was in a broad context of international relations rather than specific criticism of China’s record. “In every country, not just China and the U.S., the global climate crisis is best surmounted with transparency and openness, respect for the rule of law, and accountability to the people,” she said in her Beijing talk.
This was of course, ‘welcomed by China’. Really? Do you think Nance can stop by North Korea on her way home and use some of that diplomatic magic on them? I can see a speech that mentions nothing about nuclear weapons just so she does not offend as a perfect in to their arms of acceptance.
