Obama: North Dakota Will Be O.K.
Author: Admin account
03 31st, 2009Anyone else wondering why Obama did not pay a quick visit to North Dakota over the course of the last 10 days? He was not too busy in the last two months to fly out to L.A. for Leno, go to Chicago for a haircut and take a weekend break at Camp David. Why not stop in and show support for a courageous state where thousands of its citizens are fighting to save there homes and towns? Not enough votes? What if this was New Orleans, Chicago, New York or L.A.?
Of course, there was enough time to to use the floods as a call to do something about global warming!
http://www.sciam.com/blog/60-second-science/post.cfm?id=obama-cites-north-dakota-floods-in-2009-03-25
My favorite part? “Waters in the Red River were 33 feet this morning, according to CNN. That’s 15 feet above flood stage, and close to the record 41.1 feet set in April 1897, according to the network. The river could exceed those levels by Friday or Saturday, officials say.”
1897! 1897! 1897! Come on! If 114 years ago the river was this high that is certainly not an example of global warming. Also, isn’t the main issue why the floods are taking place due to a record amount of snow fall? Geeez.

Obama Does His Best Trump Impersonation
Author: Admin account
03 30th, 2009Well…..In case you were wondering the President of the United States should not be able to fire a CEO of any company.
In case you were wondering this has never been done before.
In case you were wondering there is not any evidence of democracy functioning in this action.
“This is not meant as a criticism of Mr. Wagoner, who has devoted his life to this company; rather it’s a recognition that it will take a new vision and new direction to create the GM of the future,” Obama said.
Oh really? New vision? Why not let the Board of Directors dictate that? Since when is it government’s job to displace anyone at any company? I do not care how bad of a job he has done, never should this be allowed to happen. The minute we excuse one act of government intrusion into our way of doing business,we open up a can of crap that is now excused and this behavior goes from unprecedented to accepted and the whole fabric of our country’s economic system gets changed forever.
The kicker? He is also threatening the same fate for Chrysler’s CEO, which is a privately held company! Impossible you say? Nope, anything is possible when your President is taking unprecedented steps to infiltrate American business and turn everything into a government controlled entity.

Your Pilot is No Longer Armed
Author: Admin account
03 26th, 2009So, this is a bit of a head scratcher. I stumbled upon this last week but forgot to post it. It seems that rather UNTRANSPARENTLY (word?) Obama has eliminated the W law allowing pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit. What is even more amazing is the fact that pilots actually were allowed to carry weapons up until 1987. Why is this a big deal for Obama? What harm did this cause? Did you ever hear about any pilot abusing this privilege? Very odd and another example of this administration imposing its will on the American people.
The original article in The Washington Times is no longer available but here is basically the article anyway:

Real or Robot?
Author: Admin account
03 25th, 2009One of the major bashes on W for the 8 years he was in office was his tendency to mangle his words. Now, we have a President who uses a teleprompter like I use a dictionary when writing my posts. Which do you prefer? I think a teleprompter is a good thing for major speeches and basically a necessity. However, at a press conference? Shouldn’t you know the issues and be able to elaborate on them well enough that you do not need one? Is Obama’s use of one all of the time an indication that he he not very polished after all and certainly not ready for prime time? Is it used this often to avoid the scrutiny that he so dearly hates? Look at two instances when he did not use one. On Leno he certainly did not have that Special Olympics reference pre-loaded into the device did he? How about the most recent and (seems like70th) 60 Minutes interview with the nutty and psychotic laughter episode. Was that planned? Something to think about and yes, the freaking teleprompter has its own blog-well, not really but here:

Fight For Old Notre Dame
Author: Admin account
03 25th, 2009Is that how it goes? Anyway I have been amazed in the last week. First Duke, now Notre Dame! If Ohio State impresses me next I may go peacefully to my grave.
Using the power of DEMOCRACY it seems the good people in support of the Catholic religion (The Cardinal Newman Society) are none too pleased with the announcement that Mr. Obama will be speaking at the school’s commencement ceremony this Spring. Attached article below is not accurate. 63,000 people as of now have signed a petition opposing this. Nice numbers!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090324/ap_on_re_us/obama_notre_dame_2
How will this President react to open public disdain over one of his intended actions? Become Catholic? Invoke the words of Knute or Ara in his speech tonight? Make a law that all opponents of ND this year in football must start down 20 points? Pardon Faust? Anything is possible. Anything.
See the petition here: http://www.cardinalnewmansociety.org/

Can He Return These?
Author: Admin account
03 24th, 2009You ever get a bad gift? Ever get a bad gift from someone after putting a lot of thought into the gift you gave them? This is kind of old but very funny!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mandrake/5011941/Gordon-Brown-is-frustrated-by-Psycho-in-No-10.html
“a penholder carved from the timbers of an anti-slavery ship. The sister ship, in fact, of the one that was broken up and turned into the desk in the Oval Office.” Holy crap! nice gift Prime Minister, Mr. Obama? Eh, not so much.

Our New Ambassador to Ireland
Author: Admin account
03 22nd, 2009O.K. This is a bit tough as a huge Steelers fan but here we go.
Fact: Life Long Republican
Fact: Family is responsible for being in charge of the #1 NFL franchise ever
Fact: Supported Obama (see “Super Bowl Sunday”) under categories
Fact: First words out of mouth after Steelers win was to thank the President
Fact: He is the new ambassador to Ireland
I refuse to believe there is any possibility that Dan Rooney would ever do anything shady.Ever.
Rooney has been an incredible advocate for all of Ireland (even though he is half Irish) for years. HOWEVER, if you pay you can play and I would never put anything past this president regarding rewarding support. In essense, Rooney was a touchdown for him and we know what a great job he does with those folks.
http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/postedsports/archive/2009/03/17/steelers-chairman-rooney-named-ambassador-to-ireland.aspx
I hope the 76 year old Rooney enjoys his post and still pays attention to his franchise. We expect to win #7 this year and do not want him to be distracted.

AIG Bonus is on You Mr. Dodd
Author: Admin account
03 19th, 2009Why can’t people just admit when they are wrong?
Dodd added an executive-compensation restriction to the bill. The provision, now called “the Dodd Amendment” by the Obama Administration provides an “exception for contractually obligated bonuses agreed on before Feb. 11, 2009” — which exempts the very AIG bonuses Dodd and others are now seeking to tax.
Dodd’s original amendment did not include that exemption, and the Connecticut Senator denied inserting the provision.
“I can’t point a finger at someone who was responsible for putting those dates in,”Dodd told FOX. “I can tell you this much, when my language left the senate, it did not include it. When it came back, it did.”
“Because of negotiations with the Treasury Department and the bill Conferees, several modifications were made,” Dodd Spokesperson Kate Szostak in a response to FOX Business.
The provision excluding those bonus payments made it into the final version of the bill, and is law.
Separately, Sen. Dodd was AIG’s largest single recipient of campaign donations during the 2008 election cycle with $103,100, according to opensecrets.org. Also, one of AIG Financial Products’ largest offices is based in Connecticut.
Dodd is already in trouble anyway. This should do nothing to help him.
So, he gets tons of money from them, he makes the law in support of them as a payback and then BOOM tries to act like a hard ass.
Already in trouble? He was already trailing polls because of his dealings with Countrywide:
http://blogs.courant.com/capitol_watch/2009/03/chris-dodd.html
I hope the good people of CT decide that he is not good for them!

Thank You Coach K !
Author: Admin account
03 19th, 2009I am not a Duke fan. I actually have never rooted for them. Neither am I much of a fan of Coach Knotevengoingtotrytospellit BUT Coach K, when asked about the country’s new infatuation with Obama’s NCAA brackets had this to say:
“Somebody said that we’re not in President Obama’s Final Four, and as much as I respect what he’s doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said from the Blue Devils’ first-round site in Greensboro, N.C.
AMEN! You are spending too much time in campaign mode and not enough time leading! Have a great time on Leno tonight, hopefully you will not miss any of the games.

RIP-Ron Silver
Author: Admin account
03 18th, 2009So I debated about posting this but other than liking him as an actor I always admired his guts. How many actors in Hollywood or Broadway have the courage to admit they are a Republican (after 9/11) AND speak about it whenever they get the chance? In the culture of his profession there is believed to be a near McCarthyesque(?) reaction if you actually advocate for Conservative beliefs which is mainly why we see so few in his profession actually give speeches for candidates.
Mr. Silver was couragous man and I hope his legacy will encourage others to stand up and be confident about their ideals even in the face of potential backlash.
Below is a page dedicated to him from a fan:
