Obama Picks Fundraising Over Tact
Author: Admin account
05 29th, 2009File this one under the priorities category. As everyone who is not currently living with their parents is aware, the economy is not doing so hot. One of the hardest hit states is California. The Governator is trying sell everything to assist in balancing the budget. So, a visit by the President would be a very nice thing. You know, uplifting, encouraging, a great way to make money..what? (From NBC Los Angeles.com) :
President Barack Obama visited Beverly Hills Wednesday for a Democratic National Committee event that was expected to raise between $3 million and $4 million because of a hefty $30,400 price tag….Tickets to the reception at the Beverly Hilton, which featured performances Jennifer Hudson and Earth, Wind and Fire and the president. went for a base price of $1,000, VIP seats went for $2,500, according to Hari Sevugan, the national press secretary for the Democratic National Committee.
Admission to what was described as a separate “dinner and discussion” cost $30,400 per couple, which matches the maximum yearly individual contribution to a national committee under federal law.
When they are about to close all of the California State Parks, the freaking parks, your timing I would say could not be worse.
Great timing Barry. How much money did it cost us to get you there?

Panthers Allowed to Prowl at Voting Places From Now On
Author: Admin account
05 29th, 2009I remember watching some of the election day coverage which other than giving me a feeling like I was on death row waiting for my maker was overall very good. I remember an incident with some African-American men in front of a voting area in Philly and a reporter insinuating that there was some potential voter intimidation going on. At first I thought the reporter was being a little douchey. He seemed to be making a big deal out of this, but as I began to think about it and see how the men in front of the voting place were reacting to the reporter when he attempted to interview them I began to see this as a potentially bad situation for the people who had to vote that day at that location.
Below is an excellent editorial from The Washington Times about this situation and how the Obama Administration’s Justice Department has decided to not do anything about it. It is the perfect editorial about the double standards that exist in this country and I challenge anyone to debate this:

How is That New Auto Task Force Doing?
Author: Admin account
05 28th, 2009Geez, almost two bankruptcies in 3 months? Let’s take a look at these men and woman with years of automotive experience who were tapped by the president to assist the U.S. auto industry off the ledge of doom:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090527/ap_on_re_us/autos_task_force_glance
Wow! That is an impressive list of banker….What a minute! I do not see any person on that list who has any experience in the auto industry! You mean he put a task force (I always want to say “Super Secret” before I say that) together that has zero members with experience in looking into the very industry they are investigating? That seems odd and a bit like it was rushed? No, this president would never do that.

Pelosi Runs Away From CIA Flees to New Buddies in China
Author: Admin account
05 27th, 2009In a word, lucky. So, she gets the CIA really peeved by calling them liars right in time to conveniently jet off across the world for a summit on climate change in…CHINA. Is this the same China that hosted the Olympics that had all that smog and air pollution? The same China that Pelosi has criticized for years regarding their human rights issues? How much fuel did we burn getting her over there and why in the heck is the Spreaker of the House our point person on this? Odd indeed.
I hope that Nance used this time in the spotlight to bring up China’s well documented human rights violations. I mean it has worked so well for her in the past. I am sure sh……Um… no (From TIME-CNN):
Ahead of this week’s visit to China, Pelosi’s first as Speaker of the House, there was some nervousness in China that the high-ranking Democrat would publicly raise human rights concerns at a sensitive time in Beijing — just one week before the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre. But thus far the American politician, who is facing questions at home about what she knew of the CIA’s waterboarding of terrorism suspects, has given her hosts little to worry about. When she did mention human rights, it was in a broad context of international relations rather than specific criticism of China’s record. “In every country, not just China and the U.S., the global climate crisis is best surmounted with transparency and openness, respect for the rule of law, and accountability to the people,” she said in her Beijing talk.
This was of course, ‘welcomed by China’. Really? Do you think Nance can stop by North Korea on her way home and use some of that diplomatic magic on them? I can see a speech that mentions nothing about nuclear weapons just so she does not offend as a perfect in to their arms of acceptance.

This Jackson 2 is a Bit Sketchy, But The Jackson 5 Rock!
Author: Admin account
05 22nd, 2009I was watching this show on the HG channel. Yes, I watch the channel so please leave me alone. Anyway, it had to do with home remodeling and every week they pick a house that a particular couple who lives in agrees to have designers come in and share their ideas of how the house can look better. I remember an episode like 2 months ago that featured Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife. Their budget was something like $125,000 and they wanted to remodel their rather large house on the south side of Chicago. They had lived in the house for a long time and based on the fact that Mrs. Jackson Jr. was an Alderman (or Alderwoman?) for this section of Chicago they could not move away from her district. I remember thinking at the time that the house was pretty darn big for the salaries that they earned but there is always family money and stuff so whatever.
Now, everyone know that Junior has been under investigation for his involvement in the Blago stuff regarding Obama’s seat, right? Here are some new revelations that have surfaced regarding how his finances have been attained:
May 21 (Bloomberg) — Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.’s congressional campaign organization has paid his wife at least $247,500 since 2001, including at least $95,000 after Sandra Jackson joined the Chicago City Council two years ago, according to federal election records.
Jackson’s political committee also gave at least $298,927 in cash and in-kind contributions to Sandra Jackson’s campaign fund, which bankrolled her races for a city council seat that pays more than $100,000 per year and an unpaid position on the Cook County Democratic Committee.
Sandra Jackson, known as Sandi, received the $95,000 for political consulting after pledging during her campaign to give “my full attention” to the alderman’s post.
Jesse Jackson got a Federal Election Commission advisory opinion in 2001 saying his campaign could pay Sandi Jackson for consulting work without violating a ban on personal use of political donations. Even so, the Chicago Democrat’s fundraising is so entangled with his family’s interests that he’s pushing the limits of propriety, said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a nonprofit ethics watchdog group.
“Much of this may be legal, but let’s refer back to an old quote: the scandal in Washington often is what’s legal,” said Sloan, whose group in 2007 reported on relatives who profit from their ties to members of Congress. “Mr. Jackson is availing himself of the full range of loopholes by which he can transfer money to his family.”

This is interesting. I often wonder why people who are in office to serve ever have any time to take this much effort to try things like this? Must not have enough things to do.

Hey Dems, How is That ‘Culture of Corruption’ Campaign Going For You?
Author: Admin account
05 22nd, 2009So, you remember back in 2006 when Pelosi and her posse of self-righteous Dems gathered together to fight the Republicans and their culture of corruption? You do not? Here is the reminder straight from the past:
http://www.house.gov/pelosi/press/releases/Feb06/honest.html
Anyway, take a look at the latest from CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) which lists the members of Congress currently under investigation:
http://www.citizensforethics.org/node/39732
Nancy, thanks for alerting all of us to this and taking the bull by the horns! You are a true leader of ethics and morality and so is your party. Dems never cross ethical lines.
I count 4 Republicans on this list of 12. The other 8 are not Independents.
Free The Elephant 2012 and thanks to Leigh from Morrisville, NC for supporting the Republican Party and being the latest to purchase a magnet!

Gitmo Reality Starting to Hit
Author: Admin account
05 20th, 2009So, man running for President runs on everything anti-current President because majority of Americans polled think he is a bad man.
Man running for President selects issues which come across well as media sound bites because he knows a vast majority of Americans attain their news from these methods.
Man running for President makes sure he runs on issues that make him out to be a great man and man who is a compassionate and completely contrary to horrible human being who occupied the office of the presidency for the last 8 years.
Man running for President is very aware he will never be asked facts during run for the Presidency because he is a God and you do not question God.
Man has no plan of action for ideas. Man gets elected President. Man is exposed as fraud.
So, there you go. This is what is happening with Gitmo and will continue to happen, next story.

Obama Shows Gratitude to Notre Dame by Ripping on Football Team
Author: Admin account
05 19th, 2009So, I have not posted anything about the whole Notre Dame speech deal basically because I wanted to stay away from making the Obama transcends God jokes. My take? I have heard some very good arguments why it was wrong to invite him. One thing I have not heard is why did he accept? He received hundreds of invites from universities all over the country. Why did he accept this as one of his appearances? Look, if you really do not know I will tell you. He believes that he can do anything. Anything. He also believes that he can transcend any belief or ideology. America created this man and we have to live with this for now, but forget all this! Here is the real reason for this post.
I love football, especially college football. I am not a Notre Dame fan but know many who are. Notre Dame fans are just about as passionate about football on Saturdays as attending mass on Sundays. Here is what Obama said about the Notre Dame football team and their recent horrible play over the last couple of years (From ESPN via AP:
After giving the commencement speech at Notre Dame, Obama spoke at an Indianapolis fundraiser Sunday night for the Democratic National Committee. He began his remarks by joking that he told The Rev. John Jenkins, the university president, that the controversy surrounding his campus appearance “paled in comparison to what to do about the football team.”
The Fighting Irish had records of 3-9 and 7-6 the past two seasons — the most losses at the school in a two-year period — and haven’t won a national championship since 1988.
“That’s an issue we may not resolve within my four years,” Obama said.
“Eight,” shouted someone from the audience.
“All right, well, maybe in eight we might get it done,” Obama said.
Wow! Obama may have just lost the Catholic vote in 2012 because of this not some speech made at a commencement ceremony!

Obama Would Rather Not Trash Vegas to Governors Face
Author: Admin account
05 19th, 2009So, awhile back when scolding the TARP recipients Obama laid out some rules for what they should not be doing. One of which was to not have lavish events in Las Vegas for their board members and company employees. Forgetting the merits of the fact that he is setting rules for companies in the first place, why did he have to pick on a particular City? How about just stopping at events, No events PERIOD!…. It seems that the Governor of Nevada, who is not really having the greatest last couple of years is correlating the mass cancellation of events in Las Vegas to these comments made by the president is asking for some face time with him. Obama, who will be in town for a fundraising event for (nails on chalkboard as I type his name) Harry Reid says he will not meet with the Governor. Why not? How about 15 minutes to say, ya I should have not singled your highest revenue generating city out, sorry about that. What is wrong with this? I bet you the Governor may even give him a voucher to try out that Obama magic at The Wynn or wherever he sees suited. Perhaps even comp a suite for him? Come on Barry, show some love and give the guy a few minutes. You have nothing to lose.
